When it comes to things to do in Saint Lucia in 2026, we’ve highlighted some key events taking place you don’t want to miss.

The Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival

One of the Caribbean’s most celebrated music events, the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival runs from 30 April to 10 May 2026. The festival brings together a range of international and Caribbean artists to venues across the island, with incredible concerts, art exhibitions, and cultural performances taking place. Streets are turned into stages both for art, and (new this year) a range of pop-up concerts and surprise performances in unexpected locations where theatre, dance, and music come together.

Saint Lucia Carnival

Saint Lucia Carnival

The island’s biggest celebration is Saint Lucia Carnival, running from 1–22 July 2026. Whether you’re on the island already or looking to coincide your trip so you’re here on the above dates, you won’t be disappointed. Immerse yourself in the pulsating sounds of saco and calypso music, be dazzled by the colourful costumes, watch steel pan competitions, and don’t miss the huge street parade that takes place. Whether you’re an avid Carnival-goer or a first-timer, it’s one event that will stay with you forever.

La Rose Flower Festival

Held on 30 August 2026, the La Rose Flower Festival is one of Saint Lucia’s two traditional Flower Festivals that celebrate the island’s cultural heritage and long-standing community traditions. The festivals stem from a historic rivalry between two societies, each honouring a different flower through music, costumes, and performances that praise the qualities of their chosen bloom. During La Rose celebrations, members show their devotion to the rose by wearing red and creating striking displays featuring elaborate arrangements of roses, bringing colour, pride, and lively festivities to communities across the island.

Saint Lucia Billfish Tournament

For any fishing fans out there, Saint Lucia Billfish Tournament held from 29th October to 2nd November 2026 is not to be missed. An international sport fishing competition, anglers from all around the world get together to compete in catching and releasing a wide range of species. Those who decide to watch rather than compete can immerse themselves in the lively marina atmosphere and celebrations that take place around the area. Feast on some local food and drink and soak up the sun’s rays while keeping an eye on the competition.

Creole Heritage Month

Creole Heritage Month takes place in October every year, celebrating the rich Creole community and heritage in Saint Lucia. You can indulge in a range of mouthwatering local cuisine at cook-offs and street food pop-ups as well as enjoy live music, storytelling contests, and so much more. One of the main highlights is Jounen Kwéyòl (Creole Day), when communities across the island celebrate traditional Creole cuisine, dress, and customs. Visitors and locals alike dress in traditional outfits featuring the colourful Madras check fabric. Don’t leave without sampling traditional foods such as cocoa tea, bouillon, and saltfish!

La Marguerite Flower Festival

La Marguerite Flower Festival is held on the 17th of October 2026, with many Saint Lucians observing the day at Fete La Marguerite. Similar to La Rose Flower Festival as mentioned above, La Marguerite members dress in the colour purple and create displays of the Marguerite flower as well as singing traditional songs. In both festivals you can celebrate Saint Lucia’s heritage, enjoy local food and crafts, and support local vendors. There’s a colourful parade and stunning floral displays to see too.

Celebrations start in the first week of December with a stunning lantern Competition, culminating on the eve of Saint Lucia Day (12th December) with a lantern street parade, Christmas show, illumination of Christmas lights and a fireworks display. This is arguably one of the most beautiful things to do in Saint Lucia and a real highlight if you’re visiting at the end of the calendar year.
