Caribbean Month 2019

The Caribbean is calling…

Join us for Caribbean month in September

September is celebrated as Caribbean Month in the UK Market by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) UK & Europe with the aim of highlighting the diversity of the Caribbean, inspiring holidaymakers about the region and training the trade to encourage engagement and bookings during this key period.

Carol Hay, CTO Director of Marketing UK and Europe states “Caribbean Month is an important aspect of our UK calendar. It’s an opportune time to raise the profile of the Caribbean region and encourage booking for the winter period.  The Caribbean has numerous attributes which makes our region a most desirable holiday destination. Our history, culture, cuisine, music, beaches, hiking, sailing, diving, bird-watching, festivals, etc, all make for unforgettable experiences. And we’ll love to share these experiences with both the trade and consumer”.

Carol added, “a number of our UK partners have a lot of activities planned. Look out for the many special discounted deals to the Caribbean around this time”.

To kick start the celebrations, the CTO has coordinated a number of events and activities including an integrated consumer campaign alongside headline partner BA Holidays and destination partners Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, St Kitts and Tobago. The campaign will include London Metro Cover Wraps, Adverts across the Evening Standard and Metro, London Underground Digital Elevator Panels and a number adverts on the Mail Online.

For trade engagement, travel agents and tour operators can join the CTO’s Award Winning Caribbean Roadshows in Nottingham (10 September), Leeds (11 September) and the grand finale in London on 18 September. A number of Caribbean suppliers will be joining these roadshows including, Selling Travel (Media Partner), Advantage Management Group, Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas, Barbados Beach Club (SilvaLining), The Bahamas Tourist Office, Belize Tourism Board, British Airways, Cara Hotel Marketing, Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, Discover Dominica Authority, Group Promotions, Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board, Nevis Tourism Authority, Resort Marketing International, Sandals Resorts, Sunsail, Tobago Tourism Agency and the Turks & Caicos Islands Tourist Board.

As well as the launch of the new Caribbean MICE Guide, there is opportunity to connect and network with key decision makers in the Caribbean tourism industry on 17 September at the CTO UK Chapter Social.
